Sharon Michel

Clinical Social Work Intern

I am a Master of Social Work student at Baylor University. As a member of the Army Reserves and a military spouse, I have experience with working with military personnel and their families on a variety of wellness matters. My military family has dealt with multiple change of station moves and temporary duty assignments. I would like to help clients who may be experiencing challenges with relocating, short-term and long-term separation.

In addition to my personal experiences, I have worked with homeless individuals, couples, and children throughout my educational career. Those opportunities gave me an understanding of several mental health issues that overwhelm underserved communities across the country. 

The person-centered approach to counseling is of most importance to me. I desire to work with diverse populations while utilizing evidence-based interventions to address my clients’ concerns. My goal is to provide my clients with a holistic approach to therapy by allowing them to express their challenges in a safe environment and supplying them with the tools they can use on their life journey.
